Does Will Ferrell announce All-Star Game player intros?


Actor Will Ferrell, first known for his improvisation skills on “Saturday Night Live”, was a hit with fans and the social media world as his rambling introductions of Bulls and Hornets players made the rounds on TV and online earlier this week.

It didn’t take much time for a Facebook group to pop up calling for Will Ferrell to announce the NBA All-Star Game player introductions.

Believe it or not, Wednesday was not the first time Ferrell announced the starting lineups for a team. His first attempt came in the movie “Semi-Pro”, in which he runs a dysfunctional team with the style and flair of the old ABA franchises.

It might be more funny than practical, but Ferrell could be a nice addition to an NBA All-Star Weekend that has increasingly become more about fun. The addition of Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley’s hockey-style choosing of rosters for the Rookie-Sophomore game is a good illustration of how loose things have become.

As of Friday night, just under 900 people liked the Facebook page campaigning to have Ferrell
