Gilbert Arenas on Memphis Grizzlies’ radar

The Memphis Grizzlies are considering adding free-agent guard Gilbert Arenas.

The Grizzlies will not sign Arenas until they’re able to see him work out, according to the report, but a source told the newspaper that team and player were arranging a meeting.

Memphis is in need of backcourt depth and outside shooting, the report notes, and believes Arenas—although his offensive production has plummeted—can help fill those needs. He’d likely back up starting point guard Mike Conley.

Arenas, 30, was waived by the Orlando Magic via the amnesty clause before the season and has drawn scant interest on the free-agent market. He did work out of the Los Angeles Lakers, however.
