Anthony Davis, the no-brainer top pick in this year’s NBA Draft, said he will not return to Kentucky just to avoid being selected by the Charlotte Bobcats, who many league observers believe are one of the worst teams in NBA history. While Davis has not yet declared his intention to enter the draft, he said the team he may end up on is not a factor in his decision about whether to turn to pro.
“Whoever drafts me, I’ll love playing for them,” Davis told The Charlotte Observer on Saturday.

Davis was in Charlotte for the Jordan Brand Classic. He had 29 points and 11 rebounds and earned co-MVP honors (along with future North Carolina signee James Michael McAdoo) in last year’s game, The Observer notes.
The Bobcats, with just seven wins on the year—the Wizards have the next fewest wins with 14—have a 25 percent chance of winning rights to the first pick when the NBA holds its draft lottery May 30.
