As the Denver Nuggets cling to a playoff spot—after Monday’s games, they’re in eighth-place in the West, one game ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the conference’s last postseason berth—they are facing the possibility of going the rest of the way without forward Al Harrington.
Harrington left Monday’s 123-84 win over the Golden State Warriors in the third quarter and did not return. After the game, Harrington said he has a torn meniscus, which he's been playing with for a “couple of games,” the Denver Post reports.
But Harrington who’s been one of the Nuggets’ best players this season, said he and the team’s medical staff are exploring their options and that he wants to keep playing.
While Harrington’s never played with a torn meniscus before, he said, per the Post, “I’m going to stay in the race.”
He’s played in all 57 games this season and is averaging 14.5 points and 6.2 rebounds over 27.8 minutes per game. Denver's next game is Wednesday night, at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
