Manu Ginobili said the rib injury he sustained during the Spurs win over the Clippers on Saturday is not as serious as he initially thought, although he is returning to San Antonio for rest and treatment while his team continues on its road trip.
Ginobili said the inflammatory medications he was given on Sunday have already helped lessen the pain from the strained left oblique.
“I don’t think it is as bad as I feared it was,” Ginobili said, according to the San Antonio Express-News. “Last night it was very bad, but the inflammatories (medications) already are working.
“We’ll know more tomorrow, but I am hopeful,” he added.
Ginobili has already missed 22 games this season because of a fractured left hand.
