NBA reportedly looking to add Jeremy Lin to All-Star festivities in Orlando

Many around the NBA are wondering if the league will make sure that Jeremy Lin is part of next weekend’s All-Star festivities in Orlando. Commissioner David Stern has said he won’t add Lin to the Rising Stars game, which features the league’s best first- and second-year players, and there's no way he'll play in Sunday's main event. But, the New York Daily News reports, the NBA wants to add Lin to the Haier Shooting Stars competition on Saturday night.

The Shooting Stars competition pits one current NBA player, one WNBA player from the same market and a TNT personality against other trios of the same makeup from around the league.

It would be almost shocking if the NBA fails to capitalize on Lin’s sudden popularity by finding a spot for him in Orlando, and the Shooting Stars competition, not one that has traditionally generated much buzz, would benefit immensely from his participation.
