Report: Bucks put Andrew Bogut on market—with a catch

The Milwaukee Bucks have put center Andrew Bogut on the trading block with a major condition, any team wishing to make a deal for the injury-prone big man would have to take back unhappy swingman Stephen Jackson.

Jackson, 33, is guaranteed $10 million next season and hasn't meshed whatsoever with Bucks coach Scott Skiles. Jackson told HoopsHype.com in February that their relationship was beyond repair. Given that Milwaukee acquired him to provide leadership and help take pressure off point guard Brandon Jennings, and he hasn't played since Feb. 19, he's probably correct.

On Feb. 29, Skiles told Sporting News' Sean Deveney that he still had some optimism about the situation.

Earlier this week, Jackson said he, like many, was interested in playing for the Chicago Bulls.

"At the end of the day, I’m here supporting the team right now and just trying to stay professional until something changes,” Jackson told CSNChicago. “I’ve heard a lot, but it’s kind of hard because teams don’t really say too much to me, especially this organization, but I’m just keeping my fingers crossed, just continuing to keep my body ready for when it’s time.”

The Jackson caveat, as ESPN notes, is enough to keep Bogut, who had developed into one of the league's best centers his string of injuries began late in the 2009-10 season, when he severely injured his arm in a fall. On January 25, Bogut, the No. 1 pick in 2005, fractured his ankle.

ESPN reported that the Bucks are interested in acquiring potentially available Wizards center JaVale McGee in a Bogut trade—and The Washington Post, citing league sources, reports that Bogut has, in fact, requested a move.

"There's a lot of teams interested in calling John," Bogut's agent David Bauman said of Bucks general manager John Hammond, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I don't know what they (the Bucks) will end up doing."
