New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler is dealing with multiple injuries to his left hand and wrist and will probably be playing in pain for the remainder of the season, the reports. No surgery is necessary, but Chandler said the injuries he sustained in the Knicks’ Feb. 19 win against Dallas could take as long as six weeks to heal.
While Chandler did not say specifically say what injuries he has, he previously mentioned a sprained wrist and deep hand bruise.
“It’s a situation where I don’t think I’m going to hurt it any more playing,” Chandler said, according to The Times. “It’s just moreso the pain.”
Added Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni, per ESPN Dallas, "I don't know if there's anything specific other than just some stress reactions on the bone. Just sore, nothing that won't heal, but something that will be sore for about a month."
The Knicks play the Mavericks, Chandler’s former team, again on Tuesday, when Chandler will receive his championship ring for Dallas’ 2011 title.
