Lakers center Andrew Bynum left Sunday’s game against the Golden State Warriors with a left ankle sprain, but he told teammates after the game that he does not expect the injury to keep him out of any games.
Any injury to Bynum is enough to cause concern among Lakers fans, as the big man has missed significant time during his seven-year NBA career, largely due to knee issues. He has played in all 49 of the team’s games this year since serving a suspension through the first four games of the season, however. Bynum has joked that while his knees are bad, his ankles are just fine, the Register notes.
X-rays taken on Sunday showed no fracture, and Bynum is listed as day-to-day, according to several reports on Twitter. The Lakers’ next game is Tuesday at home against the Nets, and they play the Clippers Wednesday at Staples Center.
