New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson does not believe the team will make a move to acquire another point guard after losing Jeremy Lin for the next six weeks to a torn meniscus in his left knee.
The Knicks would have to waive a player to open a roster spot for a replacement for Lin, but Woodson thinks the point guard trio of Baron Davis, Mike Bibby and Toney Douglas can get the team through the rest of the regular season.
“I haven’t had a chance to sit down with Glen (Grunwald, general manager) and (owner) James Dolan and see," Woodson said, according to The Post. “My thinking is that we’ll probably go with what we have. I don’t think there’s a whole lot out there right now who will make a big difference for our ballclub.”
Now that the Chinese Basketball Association season is over, point guards Stephon Marbury and Aaron Brooks are available, The Post notes.
But when asked in an email from The Post what he would do if the Knicks called him, Marbury replied, “NOTHING.”
